I would thoroughly recommend Kokoda Courage to any person or group willing to engage themselves in a trip of a lifetime.
All the pre trek organisational work was very helpful, honest and easy to understand. Make no mistake you should not undertake this trip without preparing your body and mind. Kokoda Courage were very supportive with advice and guidance but you have to do a lot of planning and training. The fitter you are the more enjoyable the trip.
Whilst on the track we were supported by a sensationally knowledgeable guide and leader (Darren) who assisted our imaginations to understand what the diggers had to do to defend our country as we know it today. Those who fought on the track were so young and incredibly brave.
Our group was of all ages, shapes and sizes and we were all catered for by both Darren and the wonderful porters employed by Kokoda Courage.
The journey on the track from Kokoda to Ower’s Corner was tiring, emotional, trying, but ever so rewarding. It is an experience of a lifetime and any Aussie with a sense of history and pride in our great country should consider using Kokoda Courage to help them fulfil a dream.

The 2014 River’s Gift Kokoda Trek was the most incredible experience I’ve ever had the privilege of enduring. Given that the trek was arranged as an initiative for our charity, the journey represented an additional quality that will forever remain with me.
Right from the point that the seed was sown for the trek to be hosted, The Kokoda Courage displayed such enthusiasm, cooperation and professionalism in the way they coordinated and conducted the trip. Our tour guide, Pete, shared his intimate knowledge of the war history along the track and displayed such candid admiration and compassion for the Australian war veteran’s and all that they faced in battle.
Anyone looking to face the challenge and experience of the Kokoda Trek should contact The Kokoda Courage. Their ability to motivate and harness a camaraderie amongst the group, together with the rounded account of war history they provide, make for the trip of a lifetime.

Wow, what a year 2016 was. My siblings Mathew O’Brien, Shari Douglas and I completed the Kokoda track in October 2016. Our tour leader was Etienne Ryckmans and we just wanted to let you know that he was amazing. ET made our trip the adventure of a lifetime and we can’t commend him highly enough, he was flexible, informative, supportive and just a great leader. To say Kokoda was the highlight of a lifetime is an understatement and I would thoroughly recommend that anyone who has ever considered embarking on this adventure to just get out there and do it. The PNG porters were incredible and we have never met such a group of selfless not to mention talented people. Without them we could not have done what we did and we were all truly grateful for their patience, expertise and assistance in every way. Together with ET, the porters and other group members our trip unforgettable and something we will cherish and re-live forever. Before the trip I wasn’t sure that I really wanted to do this but by day 2 all I was thinking about was my next trip to Kokoda and how amazing it was. So thank you Kokoda Courage,

A special mention to Rory the medic who was a blessing to have in our crew.

The Kokoda trek was all of physical, mental & emotional, however it was the most rewarding experience that I have achieved. I would highly recommend anyone to take the challenge.
People at home have asked me what the highlight of the trek was! Every day was a highlight, this beautiful country, the villages, the people always smiling, children greeting you. 10 Days was spent with 18 amazing people, who now share a special bond and memories for a life time. Thanks to Pete we learnt so much of the history of what the diggers went through in 1942 made me realise how lucky I am.
To all the porters especially John, thank you, you are all truly an astounding bunch of guys.
Lastly, to Kokoda Courage, Pete and Jasmine. A highly skilled & knowledgeable organisation that I would recommend, I sincerely thank you.

The ‘Kokoda Courage’ experience
There are many possible reasons for taking on the arduous and challenging, yet enormously rewarding experience of the Kokoda trek. But one thing is guaranteed; the experience will be highly emotional, extremely thought provoking and potentially life changing. There is not a single thing that I have ever experienced that comes close to emulating the magnitude and emotional impact of this trek and the manner in which the 'Kokoda Courage' both prepare and support you on this journey is of the highest regard. They not only prepare you with undoubted expertise for the physical and emotional challenges you will be faced with, but also openly embrace the historical significance of the location and the actions of men, through their supreme sacrifice, that has protected all that we have come to know and expect in normal day life.
The Kokoda Brother experience epitomises the four sacred values of the Kokoda campaign, Courage, Endurance, Mateship and Sacrifice. Peter, Dominic and their beautiful families not only help endear you to the experience, they remind you of how life should be valued and treasured.
There is humour. There is emotion. There is respect. There is laughter. There are tears.

The trip of a lifetime. I've completed the Kokoda track twice now with Kokoda Courage and I can't wait to go back for a 3rd time. The trip is brilliant in so many ways. The physical and mental challenge of completing the track is so rewarding.
Experiencing, hearing and seeing WW2 battle sites, stories and left over ammunition and artillery is amazing and emotional.
The scenery and conditions is truly spectacular, the photos look brilliant but they don't do it justice in comparison to experiencing yourself.
Finally experiencing the PNG people and kids in the villages, you cannot wipe the smiles of there faces!
Highly recommend the trip and experiencing it with Kokoda Courage, your trip of a lifetime!

Prior to going in this amazing trip with Kokoda Courage, I thought what could be more exciting than climbing the highest free standing mountain in the world? The trek was greater than my expectations – it was well prepared, the group was friendly and easy going, the last day was just as brutal as expected! I loved every moment of the scenery and the challenge. What really impressed and surprised me as well as the climb itself was how beautiful and friendly the people were. We felt really welcome on the trip and this added to the already positive experience. And what better way to reward ourselves after the climb than going on safari and lazing on Zanzibar! We saw just about all of the Big 5 as well as countless other animals, while relaxing in the trucks. Following this was 3 days of relaxed bliss by the beach! I’d highly recommend this adventure – one of the best trips I’ve ever been on – along with Kokoda of course! Well done Peter another great adventure.

Do yourself a favour and get off the couch & get away from those crappy reality TV shows and experience life with an amazing true story attached. Myself & a few mates just got back from trekking the Kokoda Track which seriously opened our eyes to the amazing sacrifice of our WW2 troops in Papua New Guinea , a story that few Australians actually know. Kokoda would have to be one of the most remote places on earth with some amazing landscapes & whilst it with test your body and mind nearly anyone can do it with a bit of training, like one of my mates 67 year old father. A highlight of the trip would have to be the local villages we stayed in and our local porters who always had a smile and a helping hand when needed & a big THANK YOU to Charlie the chef who cooked us amazing meals to keep us going. So if you are up for a challenge that I guarantee you won’t regret give the guys at Kokoda Courage a call, they organised a fantastic trip, provided all the support both before & on the trip and made us laugh the whole way….well nearly.

In September 2015 I completed the Rivers Gift Kokoda Track with the Kokoda Courage company. It was an extremely hard eight days on the track which was made easier by the exceptional group of people I did the track with. I would now consider all of these people friends. From the outset the organisation by Pete and Jasmine from Kokoda Courage was exceptional. From the pre track training set up by Pete to the flights and organisation when we hit PNG the whole trip was flawless. Once on the track the accommodation, food and porters were excellent. Pete spoke to us throughout the track about the amazing sacrifice by the soldiers that fought in PNG. He pointed out where significant battles took place and we went off track to ammo dumps and crash sites. The people in the villages were very friendly and made us feel at home. It didn’t take long for the porters to get used to us and they regularly sang to us which was a real treat. All in all it was a really well run and organised trip which I enjoyed immensely. If you are thinking of doing the Kokoda Track then in more ways than one you need to do it with Kokoda Courage.

I would recommend a trek with Kokoda Courage to anyone. It was an inspirational time that everyone should have the chance to experience at least once during their life. We walked from Kokoda to Owers Corner in 8 days as a group of 28 mates, 2 guides, and 25 porters. Our guides were knowledgeable and supportive and the group of porters led by Nick and Guy were friendly and helpful. It was a big group but everything ran like clockwork.
Completing the trek has helped put other challenges in life into perspective. Seeing the infectious smiles on the faces of village kids who had so little material possessions has reinforced the need to learn to be happy with what we have.
The visit to Bomana War Cemetery at the end of the trek really brought home to us all why we were there and was an emotional experience.
Aside from anything else, and despite the difficult physical conditions, we had a lot of fun.

Kokoda was on my bucket list for years but given 2017 was the 75th year anniversary I decided this had to be the year.
I decided to book with Kokoda Courage as I felt comforted by the fact that they have a paramedic on each tour (not that I was planning to utilise this service).
The trek really was the experience of a lifetime! Our guides Travis and ET were fantastic and it was great to see the obvious respect and friendship between the
Porters (who were amazing!!) and Kokoda Courage.
Our whole experience lived up to the ideals of Kokoda – Courage. Endurance. Mateship. Sacrifice.

Cheryl

Completing the Kokoda track from Kokoda to Owers corner was a tough journey emotionally and physically. Following the same journey as the Australian fighting withdrawal allowed the trekkers, myself included, to get a true sense of what the 39th, 2/14th and 2/16th went through during the battle of Kokoda in WWII. Thanks to the Kokoda Courage team for the encouragement, guidance and the incredible insight into the key landmarks and battles that slowed down the advancing Japanese army.
The Kokoda Courage provide a truly sensational journey. If you are going to do the Kokoda track I highly recommend Kokoda Courage as the company to do it with. NPS Score of 10 from me.

Hiking the Kokoda track for the second time was one more experience that I will never forget, just remembering the diggers what they done for our country so we can live the way we do. I did it hard this time round I forgot how hard it was, Once we got to Kokoda the heat got to me all most straight away, but I had to keep going on, we had a great bunch of trekkers who were very supportive, the porters we're great specially my personal porter Ray, and who can forget our guide Peter Condon the amount of help and guidance to myself from him was something I will always be grateful for, and of course our paramedic Narelle what a great job she did for all our trekkers and porters.

Geoff

The Nepal trip with Kokoda Courage is a great one. Trekking through the Himalayas offers amazing scenery which makes the hard work all worth while. We climbed to great heights, walked amongst the clouds, through the jungle, through moss forests, hillside villages, passed wandering buffalo and yacks and fought off leeches. It was a real adventure!
Every morning the clouds would lift and we would awake to fabulous mountain views that photos don't do justice to.
It is a well organised trip with a good mix of what Nepal has to offer.
Our local guides were fantastic which made the trip one I will always remember.
